It's terrifying that the birthright citizenship case was a 5-4 decision. Thought it might be 6-3 or maybe even 7-2. In a rational world, it would have been unanimous. #USpol #SCOTUS

@RachelThornSub it’s clear that textualism or originalism or whatever is just a pretense to choose whatever outcome is desired.

I’m not a lawyer, and I haven’t read the dissents, but I find it hard to believe that the text in question from the 14th amendment can be read in any other way, other than guaranteed birthright citizenship.

At this point, it’s just lawlessness

The dissents lay out their evocation of originalist guide to getting to their conclusions.

Heck, the dissents answer your question about how they got to their conclusions, but farther, without reading them you don't even know what they concluded!
