I really don't understand folks who don't want to learn. That is one of my favorite things about webdev.

he's got a point.
companies don't want to pay skilled workers to refine the art and then advance the company.
they just want to poach someone who's already done that, burn them out and repeat.
@icedquinn oh. You are reading the conclusion in the opposite way that I did. the OP was saying, "no hire."
it's not the employees job to give you eight hours a day and spend their eight hours of personal time learning how to make you money more efficiently.
@icedquinn true. But an acceptable answer would have been, "I consider that part of my job, so I spend an hour or two each day on that. I also enjoy it." At least, that's my case :)
@newt @icedquinn I guess the next question is what you count as work. The contention is that learning should be part of it.
