It seems that Facebook and Instagram (owned by Facebook) continue to ignore racist and other abuse on their platforms,. AKA lets assume they condone it (other wise they would do something)
Do you think it is worth suggesting that clubs
1. Set up their own account / Instance on the Fediverse for players staff
2. Set up a 2nd instance for the supporters club season ticket holders which you pay for as you pay to be a club member or pay for a season ticket)
2. Real fans have given their detail to the club so won't cause trouble as their details / evidence could be handed to the police, they can also be banned (life probably) from the club
3. Federate between the two
3a allow sponsors to be mentioned on their own or fan club instance
4. Anyone else can join a different instance (e.g here) and sti follow the club BUT any issues they can be blocked by the club / instance owner
5. Delete ALL accounts on facebook etc, (they are not delete straight away anyway) this with any luck, would deny social media firms income and may make them clean up their act, in a similar way to how FreeSignal got signal to stop using google, perhaps this will bring about change.
Just a thought as the issue seems to be getting worse.
We need ideas, perhaps it will take a huge loss of income to wake them up
If nothing else this idea may get people here, on the fediverse and may encourage others to join too.
