We published a report last year that also goes through a bunch of arguments for banning the entire surveillance-based advertising model.
With the DSA, the EU will roll out a ban of advertising based on sensitive personal data and surveillance-based advertising to children, which is a step in the right direction but falls short of solving the wider issue.

At least we are heading in the right direction and the EU are getting on with it, Online safety bill in the UK should hit statute books sometime in 2023. not before time.

@zleap @pluralistic Will also depend on enforcement. As described in Cory's post, the enforcement bottleneck is crippling the GDPR.
