Once upon a time, GOP stood for limited government. In time, it became the party of “cultural conservatism.”
Now, it’s a cauldron of bitterness, xenophobia, racism, homophobia & anti-intellectualism.
Let's be clear: The Republican Party has lost any legitimate reason for being.

Accelerate a colony on Uranus
Set up a parliament consisting of the current UK converatives on one side, and the US GOP on the other, they can then figure out who can rule Uranus.
That way sensible, rational people can figure out how to do things on Earth with the people at the centre of that.
