@drvolts Allowing a 6 year old child to have access to a gun is a crime committed with a gun. Refusing to hold parents accountable for their carelessness with a deadly weapon is a crime committed with a gun. How about that, Governor? Even the local news stories and police comments are reporting it in a way that focuses solely on the child and none on the parent.

This is not the first time a child has shot someone with a gun because the adults in charge of that child failed to keep the gun secure. The parents of this child HAVE to face charges otherwise it sends the wrong message surely.

As for the child, 6 is clearly too young to be sent to prison, even by US standards, however what is going on in that childs life needs to be examined.

Of course doing so, may open up all sorts of problems if local social services / child services (or what ever they are called in the US) have failed to act.
