If you have a fruit tree in your yard and you let most of it rot on the tree or ground and go to waste just know that I think you're a selfish jerk.
If you can't pick it yourself there are plenty of people willing to help so that it gets eaten. If you don't want to find people yourself call a local food pantry, they can often rustle up people in return for getting to distributing it.
