In Scotland we're suddenly alarmed to hear that lots of pedestrians are being killed. The real scary thing, if you look closely, is that this is just a small blip - with numbers actually not all that much higher than normal. It's just that we're talking about it for a change.
The police have responded by asking us all to wear reflective flourescent clothes. I wonder, does advice like this make us feel we're doing something, even if we know it'll never happen?
