Rather than taking a hostile reaction, it may be better, at least in the first instance to correct the vocabulary used and suggest an alternative.
Positive reinforcement, works, e.g
"Thank you for not running" to a group of children where some are walking sensibly others are running, focuses the attention of the wanted behaviour, saying Don't run doesn't give them the instruction, as they can then hop or skip down the corridor and argue it isn't running, as an adult you are backed in a corner at that point.
When it comes to LGBT we get tha, GGBTQ, LGBTQ+ LGBTQA+ and many others, which is kinda confusing which to use.
@zleap @BethanyBlack people are fucking dying because people KILL US Paul. We have the right to react how we best well fucking please. This is not about manners. Mass hatred and genocide don’t happen because a minority group are a bit rude.
@zleap maybe think that the person who your talking to has tried over 25 years of positive reinforcement and it doesn’t work on the worst people, the people who propagate this bullshit, because their arguments are purely in bad faith and designed to exhaust the people who are fighting.
Accept that sometimes your external perspective isn’t objective, and often misses out huge amounts of data and lived experience, and that sometimes it’s just best to listen.
