I don't mean to be alarmist, but I keep seeing this misinformation everywhere, including from okay outlets like #NPR : There are NO!!!! exceptions to the FULL BAN on ALL transition medical care in Missouri that will take effect on Thursday April 27.

It doesn't matter if you've taken HRT for decades, have no sex organs anymore, or have additional medical reasons to take HRT. Your doctor will not be allowed to prescribe medication or surgery to treat gender dysphoria. There are requirements in the "emergency rule" that claim to allow you to continue HRT if you meet them...

BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO MEET THOSE REQUIREMENTS. How can you "resolve" autism, anxiety, depression, personality disorders?

#Missouri #HRT #transgender #misinformation

Any medical intervention for treating gender dysphoria will be considered illegal if it:
"Fails to ensure that any psychiatric symptoms from existing mental health comorbidities of the patient have been treated and resolved" or
"Fails to ensure that the patient has received a comprehensive screening to determine whether the patient has autism".

Do these sound like requirements any human being of any gender or level of privilege could possibly meet? People with severe autistic problems that need evaluations can't get them in the largest city in Missouri; how will a random non-autistic trans person get one, or get insurance to pay for one?

@holyramenempire What happened to the Hypocratic oath taken by doctors to 'do no harm'. Doctors and medical experts are now being forced legally to do harm if they are banned from treating people, so this surely conflicts with the oath.

While doctors may risk being prosecuted, they need to stand up and defend their oath and be able to practice medicine properly without interferance or being told to with hold that treatment. UNLESS they are advised to do so by a person with a medical degree and experience in medicine. Do Ron De Santis, Donald Trump et al behind this tick the medically trained professional box ?

@zleap @holyramenempire By the same token, our enemies claim medical professionals who do gender affirming care are "doing harm", and this was an argument within the profession. An argument the nays lost.
