Immigration curbs on families of foreign students

It seems to be that the UK government are so desperate to cut migration, they will do anything.

Nothing so far has worked, we are throwing 100s of millions in to apparently targeting people smugglers and nothing is actually changing. People are still making the dangerous crossing over the channel, the busying shipping lane in the world.

Why not follow the US example, I get the impression the US has now opened up centres in central America to deal with asylum claims. Which is what the UK should be doing. Put the people smuggling gangs out of business, by offering proper alternatives.
