So many African developers have to work so much harder than those of us in Europe and the US.

At #DjangoConAfrica I'm learning first hand about connectivity issues and frequent power cuts; and I'm hearing about people having to begin programming with pen and paper because their computer availability was limited.

These developers have to work so much harder than I ever have, and yet they're so positive and driven. Huge respect.

A friend of mine used to send old computers to Cameroon, one of the issues seemed to be the sand gets everywhere and reduces the lifespan further.

However in the time they could be used, they made a real difference.

But yes, power and internet were also an issue.
