Things don't look to be getting any better at the Met (London's police force), if anything they look to be getting worse.
Having been branded institutionally racist, the Metropolitan Police don't seem to have got a real handle on how to change the character of the force.
If you're thinking 'its just these ten officers, perhaps they've just been unlucky', see it as part of a pattern of racism not a set of isolated incidents.... 'institutional' racism!
It seems to me the MET doesn't just have a problem with racism, as we saw with Wayne Cousins, there are problems with Misogamy, inapproriate sexual behaviour, taking photos of dead crime victims and sharing a host of other things.
We need to stop making excuses, stop blaming Autism, ADHD, Mental health or other conditions for this behaviour , and call people who are racist RACIST BIGOTS, and if they don't like it TOUGH.
As Kier starmer said with the NHS, it is broken, by accepting it is broken, you can start the process of fixing it.
We seem to go round in circles with inquiries, investigations, consultations and such like, all conclude with what the average person in the street could have said at the very start of the process.
The same surely needs to apply to the police, however there seems to be bad actors in many other areas such as the fire service, armed forces have or are suffering similar issues.
