If a company can't be bothered to recruit and interview people then why should one bother applying, you are clearly not that important to them, there are plenty of companies out there that will advertise and recruit properly.
One thing about face to face or even I guess video interviews is you get to see the other person, you also get to identify common interests which can help lower the tone of the interview making both sides more relaxed, leading to better outcomes for both as in better chance of landing the job but the company also hiring the right person.

@zleap Pretty sure no one would disagree with your general take - but companies aren’t exactly going to advertise that they’re doing this because it’s such a bad look.
@zleap a) What makes you think I applied to a job knowing ahead of time that they were using AI to do interviews?!? b) The company actually hiring was using a recruiter to fill the role - the recruiting agency was the one using the AI.
