Rant about social media complainers

One of the admittedly few things that gripes me about some fedi users is the absolutely astonishing level of entitlement in demanding *others* limit or CW/hashtag what they post because those users can’t handle certain stuff.

Deliberately navigating to a social media app and then complaining about what is “forced into” one’s eyes… that logic escapes me. Nobody forced you to open that app and scroll. Nobody else is responsible for what you see on the internet.

“But they didn’t use hashtags/CW!” Too bad. People may *choose* to use those things, and it’s really cool that so many here do, but they don’t have to. Holy shit, people, act like grownups and be responsible for your own internet consumption.

Rant about social media complainers

@adhdeanasl

Perhaps people want Content warnings applied how TV companies apply trigger warnings on everything that could remotely cause a problem.

Maybe a reason why when people move say next to a cricket club that has been that 100+ years, and moan about the noise of ball on wood, it is the cricket club that has to change, rahter than those who complained being told they should have checked or known what to expect when moving next to a sports club.

It would be like going to a nudist beach, past a huge sign that says nudity beyond this point, then moaning about nudity.

I have set up my account so pictures are hidden, If I want to view the image I can do, but from the text in the post I know what to expect (at least in general)

I agree with you on this, but you seem to be expecting people to use common sense.
