Harry's Last Stand
Happy New Year because 2025 will be a time to man the barricades.
"It's New Year's Eve, and we are staring into an abyss of fascism and bloodshed that awaits us in 2025. It's terrifying and I have little optimism that we can defeat what awaits us. But I know that in other times, the odds were stacked against the common people and they rose to the occasion."
As a Nation the UK has a History of not supporting fascism, Farage, Putin, Musk and Trump seem very surprised at that, and long may it last.
@lyndamerry484 As a nation the UK doesn`t exist. England Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland have very different histories when it comes to fascism. Margaret Thatcher played a leading role in sending not just this country, but the wider world, down the world to fascism by deregulating the stock market and introducing advertising to political campaigning as well as putting a Conservative in charge of the BBC.
I agree Maggie Thatcher did so much damage to the UK and she pushed the Tories to the right, it took until Johnson for them to go fully 'far right'.
I still think this Tory Party thinks that they are onto a winner by slagging off immigrants in the UK, they are not.
@lyndamerry484 @bobjmsn Actually, in 1938, there was a lot of support for fascism, it took a war to change that.
Putin is a newer Hitler, but so far he hasn't pushed into a NATO country.
The EU was built to prevent another war in Europe, and the fascists know this, which is why they have been trying for years to dismantle it.
@wyliecoyoteuk @lyndamerry484 @bobjmsn also there were not so many black/brown people in the UK then, and far fewer in positions of power or making a good living (including celebrities, sportspeople), and there are many who are *not* happy about that (even those who claim to be "Left"). As a brown person myself I don't think its /yet/ as bad as 1970s, but I'm increasingly wary about where I go and who I associate with...
@vfrmedia @wyliecoyoteuk @lyndamerry484 @bobjmsn
We have already seen attacks using nerve agents in the UK, we have also seen suspected hack attacks on infrastructure and suspect Russia, Iran and China are behind many.
Putin does have nuclear capable missiles that could hit the UK, I think he has some sort of weapon that could cause a Tsunami and flood the UK, but that may simply be the usual Dailyfail propoganda.
Either way I don't think any country should be complacent.
