When I was a girl, my mother taught me that if a man got handsy in a public space, to say "keep your hands to yourself!" loudly enough to attract public attention.

Queen Camilla's mother taught her to take off her shoe and clobber the man with it.

(To be fair to my mother, young Miss Shand was much more likely to be wearing shoes than I was. My mother also taught me how to burst an attacker's spleen, but that might be considered disproportionate, being potentially fatal.)

It always helps to have a plan. Parents, equip your kids with the tools you hope they'll never need. And shoes, as climatically appropriate.

Rupturing a persons spleen sounds better than being raped, esp if that person is going to try and rape you. Verbal first, then get more physical, you have already said NO and denied any consent. They get what they deserve.
