So with regard to crude oil, we seem to be associating Oil with just fuel for transport.,
However many more products come from Oil, so how tied in to oil are we in that respect ?
So there is a much wider set of issues here. So we still need oil for a wider range of industries.

I will try and do some more digging and share.
If we are going to stop drilling for oil we need to either stop using or replace many of the products we get from oil surely.
Consuming less is surely also the better option.
@zleap Crude oil is broken down into many products that are in everything from plastics to food.
So we are very tied in to this, unless we make serous wider changes to our lifestyles.
@zleap It's one of the reasons why the ICCC said we need sweeping changes across every aspect of society.
@zleap our whole modern lifestyle, from fertilizers to plastics is from hydrocarbons like crude oil and nat gas.
