So with regard to crude oil, we seem to be associating Oil with just fuel for transport.,
However many more products come from Oil, so how tied in to oil are we in that respect ?
So there is a much wider set of issues here. So we still need oil for a wider range of industries.

I will try and do some more digging and share.
If we are going to stop drilling for oil we need to either stop using or replace many of the products we get from oil surely.
Consuming less is surely also the better option.
