I remember this scene in "Waking Life" where a character says something like "text is unreadable in dreams" or "you can't read a clock in dreams". That's total B.S. -- I've done both of those things in my dreams multiple times.
I was reading a book in a dream and the text seemed perfectly fine, then I started lucid dreaming and noticed that in actuality, it was unreadable moving squiggles. Waking Life nails the effect perfectly.
I was able to keep "reading" the unreadable text even after lucid, but I was just making it up as I went along. I realized that when I wasn't lucid, I had been going through the motions of reading and just narrating the story in my head.
@2ck I've had the unreadable text experience.
