this is actually kinda dope. with a few tweaks to give the shavings more dimensionality, it would be even better. would be nice it see how this technique is used in a video game.
actually, makes me think of something like, you carve, sculpt, or draw something in a video game; the game has an image recognition AI; the AI recognizes an animal or something (has to be constrained to some extent) and a second, generative algorithm creates usable, in-game resources based on the thing you drew. some really neat story-telling potential in something like that
