Hey scientists: at my work Hack Day I want to build something to show extra information about scientific papers quoted in news articles. In a perfect world where all metadata is accessible, what sort of information do you think would be most useful for lay news readers to have? :arrows_clockwise_ms:

@lown I'm more lay reader than scientist, but since for most of the articles I'm reading, the topic is relatively new to me, I want to do a brief survey of the literature. something that could help there is showing the number of citations in other publications for papers the linked article cites, suggesting how influential that work is -> which papers to look to next... really though it's better to annotate the article itself or just the list of citations for that
