i was thinking of going to a hacking convention. I've only ever been to one and it's been years since then

@2ck i think it translates as long as i know the person's humor orientation yknow? (and now i know yours and its going into the spreadsheet!!! /s) i've been to ONE hacker convention and it resulted in me getting deeply invested in tracker music because i loved what some groups were doing with keygen apps

which con did you attend? I went to HOPE and had a pretty good time attending the talks though I didn't really connect with anyone

@2ck trackers are wild and the amt of control is insane! the con i went to was more accurate described as a scene event or something actually tbh. a college and the neighboring middle/high schools put together a one-off for compsci and security dorks, something like 200 of us at a convention center talking about our niche projects and watching presentations from college students and professors. probably not a real con tbh

@soup_reviews that's amazing. my school never did anything like that, but we also weren't in a college town. I guess there's no reason we couldn't do that sort of thing though...
