I've just found myself unnerved too many times, on social media, by instances in which I've *seemed* to be in agreement with people, *seemed* to share a common set of understandings, only to find that our outlooks diverge wildly. This can happen IRL as well, of course, but it seems to happen to me more often online. So I feel more need to check explicitly here...

The books listed on http://nickenfield.org/ certainly indicate that he's addressing the right questions within (IMO) frameworks likely to afford insights.
