The Great Hierakonpolis Palette is a 31st century BCE palette thought to depict the unification of upper egypt and lower egypt, by the first pharaoh of the dynastic period, Narmer. The palette has survived 5 millenia in almost perfect condition.

@benjancewicz is there something to say about how different their visual language was back then compared to modern western art? I think modern works are much more naturalistic in how they lay out a scene and suggest relationships between figures.
