@readsteven my understanding is most dead people who sign from an early age have better visual processing abilities than your average joes, so I am less worried about the issue of managing attention. on the other hand, I recall learning about this dual modality to the visual system where different visual signals might be overlaid across the same parts of the visual field while remaining legible. i forget exactly how that was meant to work though, and it was just theoretical, but it was suggested this could allow denser information displays for similar extents
