@paul I tend to find chat doesn't go anywhere on mastodon. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong, but I have no trouble on twitter. I feel like mastodon is very serious and most people are not up for idle banter.

@paranoiapen sorry to break in, but you should see the folks I follow. Yeah, some are posting about "serious business" like politics and climate change, but it's also a lot of screwing around. I suppose most of the "chatting" is buried in threads though where you might not see @paul
