Being a great does not start with you being top at maths and science. It starts with you wanting something to be better in some way and then you finding an urge to seek out what that way is. I need enthusiastic and relentless seekers far more than I need equations.

@engineeringdad I have hope for my grandchildren. Look at this guy, figuring things out. He doesn't have a phone stuck to his head.

@engineeringdad @hasmis - continuing the theme of next generation of genius ... Manufacturer of large lithium batteries: "must be mounted on a non combustible surface e.g. a wall". Me: "tbh if one of those was on fire I'd want to get it out of the building pretty darn quick". Eldest son: "well how about I make a frame to hold the batteries and mount that on a pallet then". ๐Ÿ˜

@hasmis @engineeringdad - thank you for the feedback as @engineeringdad says the best engineers are the ones who think things can be done better! It's work in progress. I'd probably have it mounted on casters ideally but I need to weld up a base frame. I still think he's done a great job thinking round the issue, coming up with and constructing an innovative solution to industrial battery portability - he's still school age.

@AJtheEngineer @engineeringdad If you think there is window (leak before break), then use the casters that flip on. After all, there are earthquakes. However, lithium fires are one in million, with no warning. I would get one of those automatic powder systems, and ditch extra combustibles.

@hasmis @AJtheEngineer - I was thinking a base of cement board would be better than the bare timber. To be honest, if that was on fire, I'd be running. ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐Ÿƒ
