Banning condoms suggests to me that this has more to do with the falling birth rate than the lives of unborn fetuses.

@tk quick reminder that according to Christians any sex other than for the purposes of procreation is a sin, the Catholic Church only recently reluctantly allowed the use of condoms, and even that only because of STDs. Most likely because of the absolute STD shitshow they caused in Africa by preaching that condoms are evil.

@tk most of such religious rules are memes that naturally evolved due to spreading via their believers, so it’s not a conscious desire but rather a successful evolutionary tactic.

It’s the same as with some religions forbidding pork. As pork often carried diseases, believers that didn’t eat it were statistically more likely to live on and spread that belief. Cut to 2022 when there are legit people who abstain from pork because they think God forbids it XD
