My RG34XX arrived.

The green color was much better than I expected it, and luckily it feels much better than those cheap GBA replacement shells on the market.

Pokemon Emerald cart for color comparison.
Haven't powered it on yet though.

It came with a proper Kioxia 64GB MicroSD card, which is better than the probably-10-year-old 16GB SanDisk I had planned to use. I was expecting some no-brand 64GB card.

I'm currently dumping the factory image from it before I slap muOS onto it.
Included screen protector was surprising. It's the best screen protector I've ever seen. The thing fits the screen edge to edge and there's no visible edge whatsoever once it's installed. I have never in my life seen a screen protector so precise. There's absolutely no sign of it being installed. I swear it must be manufactured with 0.1mm tolerances or something ridiculous. And it was included for free with a $60 product.

Every single product should come with a screen protector this precise.

Believe it or not, there's a tempered screen protector installed in this photo, but there's absolutely no visible sign of it.
Anyways, I'm going to slap muOS on it, sync all my games and saves via Syncthing. And then see how well it does over the next couple days.
btw, the reason i'm bothering with dumping the firmware is because Anbernic doesn't list the firmware image for a 64GB card on their website for whatever reason. Since they have separate images, I doubt their 32GB image is smart enough to auto-expand to fill a 64GB card.

So I'm dumping the whole card before I put muOS on it, so I don't have to faff around looking for a firmware image if I ever want to switch back.
Fuck, I forgor that my / is on a small 128GB NVMe SSD. Guess I should've piped straight into gzip instead of doing it afterwards

Now it's filled with a chinese SD card dump, very cool.
Still 29GB after gzip.

I didn't boot it before I started overwriting the card with muOS, but I guess the factory firmware must have been crammed full of ROMs
