@fribbledom I learned Rust so that I could use a language that didn't need a garbage collector. I traded garbage collection for garbage syntax.

I really wish there was a good systems programming language with a garbage collector that became popular and widely used in place of C.
D has a GC and may be a good systems language... I've not looked closely enough at the language to decide whether I like it. But in any case it's still obscure and never got much popularity.
