@PawelK @mangeurdenuage Regarding the video, I had that issue with Discord that I had to use it in University.

Discord is comparable disaster imho, although I wasnt aware of its camera access leaking specifically.

It could be perhaps of some value to review the apis and the permission system, both over different versions od android (if it varies from version to version) and per applications at risk of leaking, possibly starting from ones known to leak this and such or similar data.

@PawelK @mangeurdenuage The best plugin for disabling a camera is adding a physical kill switch. In my former laptops I removed the web cam and speakers.

The Discord issue was even after not allowing it permission. I listen to music in the background and it would cause my audio to malfunction. These were both using a different web browser. Yeah discord is trash and I recommended the University replace it with something more appropriate.

Getting yelled at for suggesting encryption was really frustrating and then I got to meet feds. Dealing with Feds is better than a University.

Those that I ever interacted with, were mostly like relearning everything for a special world with sideways or altogethet upside-down gravity, but learning that and living in it was fun indeed.

@PawelK @mangeurdenuage Those who were in the field were great. They would openly share info with us. At the end of it, there was enough material to do something useful. Good times and I miss it but that's over now.

Regarding the privacy, you wouldnt want to exposé even your battery charge levels on your devices to Über and alikes.

PS. Mumma is a very smarty, decent lady from UK.

@PawelK @mangeurdenuage The charge level was used for something on the earlier phones and even Lenovo has a boot method where the battery needs to be removed or drained. Really cool stuff to know when the Lenovo firmware is nothing but backdoors.

@PawelK @mangeurdenuage Back when I had a Fitbit HR it would record and upload the data collected. I frequented the gym late at night for about an hour with130-150bpm while weight training.

It found that I likely have a sleeping disorder and classified me in a very specific subset of homosexuals. Either that was interpreted as weightlifting or sex with the other men who had a Fitbit.

Despite the targeted adds, I thought it was cool.
