i really miss being able to text people from my computer. the iPhone doesn't let you do that unless it's a Mac. yes, vendor lock-in, but worked just fine when i had more money. if i get more money again, i'll probably buy a Mac again. simple as that.
for someone who is always moving between using a phone and a computer and not making too much of a distinction between the two except what feels more comfortable at the moment, having close integration between the two is important, and Apple is the king of that.
@thor They should make a commercial like the old Chromebooks where they destroy it and say just buy a new one. While it might seem to cause outrage, it's the solution they offer and many users wouldn't want to be bothered by anything more.
With Linux, one could do the same but it would require having one's own cloud.
