no "you can do it" attitude there

and they didn't really care about Van Gogh until he committed suicide

"oh, how interesting, the guy was in so much pain he killed himself. we'll trade it on the art market."

quite cold when you think about it. it's a bit like how 9/11 is now a meme. given enough time and distance, no one's kind.
