Anyone remember that brief time, after the introduction of wireless networks but before the introduction of 3G and WiFi, where people would install microwave antennas on their houses to get broadband access if they couldn't get DSL or cable? This would have been around 1999-2003 or so.

@thor No I don't remember that. I remember IR and some wireless systems along with data over power lines.
That sounds like the years after NCR where Ohio State implemented their own network on a similar wavelength. It's how Apple got the Airport before 802.11b.
I'm curious about this thing you speak of.
