Having a drink to calm your nerves does work, but it can make you insensitive. Drinking shows me what I'd be like if I was more casual. As it turns out, casual means no filter for me. I can say things I regret when I have feelings for a woman too. I'm not exactly at peak self control in that situation. Relationships are difficult like that.

@AmpBenzScientist Oh, it mainly knocks out your executive function and your feelings. You don't need that to be productive, if your productivity doesn't require you to exercise self control and sensitivity.

@thor I agree. I was once a little inebriated and angry at a professor. I expressed my concerns very well. I followed it up by saying that she was attractive.

In wine, truth. It's something that I wouldn't let my conscious mind think about. It did come out though and I don't regret it.
