@AmpBenzScientist @fnord23 Main problem isn't ideas. It's basic stuff like literally doing it. I need a piece of wood and money for parts.
@AmpBenzScientist @fnord23 My friend has a Fatar 61TP/9 keybed that he is not doing anything with. I might have to talk him into letting me have it because progress is so slow.
@AmpBenzScientist @fnord23 It has a nonstandard plug on it but we already figured out it's a 2.54mm pitch ribbon cable, so you can just put a regular IDC connector on it.
@AmpBenzScientist @fnord23 I hope you're right about that.
@thor @fnord23 I have a Yamaha keyboard with velocity keys. I suspect that you don't need such features so I'd recommend a used inexpensive keyboard.
I suspect that if I were to gut my Yamaha, I could put at least one or two small PCs inside. Going with the used approach would allow you to essentially repurpose ewaste and have a lot of power at your disposal.
@thor @fnord23 Apicula got Gowin FPGAs working without closed source tools. The FPGAs might not perform as well as you would like but they are rated for industry and they are fairly inexpensive.
I've got a weird idea but it involves using the DSP abilities of a smartphone. The QCom Hexagon DSP can do a lot of work.
Tl;dr I have sadistic ideas.
@AmpBenzScientist @fnord23 Well, of course it would. I guess we could put one of those in there and it would be the most insane synth ever.
