Probably the most useful thing here going forward would be for this to work and for everyone get that Trump is really the Speaker.

Former President Trump issues a full-throated endorsement of House GOP leader Kevin McCarthy, hours before Republicans planned to return to the floor to try again to elect a speaker. https://nbcnews.to/3ia8EhF

Angry grandpa just walked over to the kids table, told Cousin Matt to stop shooting milk out of his nose, gave Cousin Andy a smack upside the head and menacingly yelled yet another warning about putting boogers on other kids plates when they're not looking, and pointed over at Cousin Marjorie (who had a pea shooter hidden under her folded hands on her lap) as a positive example they should all follow.
@AuldFoggerty
Howdy there! I'll tag along with you and see where this train goes. What you've said so far is all 👍 .

I am interested in Scottish independence, satire, good humour, furry animals and philosophical musings.
I am anti-Tory and pro-trans/LGBTI so if that offends you please leave me alone.

Remarked elsewhere this morning that they've been doing this show since the Newt days, and that it's been on longer than Gunsmoke was.
I know it's not actually funny, but there is at least some entertainment value to it-- will they use the same old excuses and arguments again, or will they add something new? What reasons will they put forward to support their anti-government views this time? How many times will each Republican member of the House break their oaths this season?
Hi I’m Chris. I’ve wandered to spend time with remote communities in the Amazon, spent time with the Hadza in Tanzania and have visited every continent apart from Antarctica.
I love spending time in the #mountains and #camping in the woods, generally being #outdoors.
I started #running Couch to 5k, about a year ago, and kept going to 50k. Now I have 5 #Ultramarathons booked for next year. 🤦♂️
I’ve been paid for taking #photos, but that’s on hold while I get settled into my new home, #Dundee.

This reminded me of Brian Victoria's "Zen at War," which was a thoroughly depressing read for me. Lucky for me, my lineage is Chan rather than Zen, so I can feel all morally superior. 😉

Ordered a Nordic Blue 187-page dotted. Was excited to see that it has numbered pages-- that's really nice and gives me an idea of specific purpose I can use it for. And actually a couple of dollars cheaper than a comparable Moleskine, oddly enough. Supposed to be here Saturday. Will write report!
@galand2dogs
Will do, and thanks again for the pointer.

Speaking of smooth paper, high-end Japanese calligraphy paper is UNBELIEVABLE. Fooled around with brush and ink kanji a while back to see if I could do it. I can't, but it was fun to try.
@galand2dogs
I understand completely! Let's fly our nerd flag with pride! 👍
They do deliver to me if I decide to do that, and I see that Amazon has them too-- although not much in my favorite pocket size. Will order one shortly just to have a look. Two ribbons is so over-the top that I can't help myself.
@ThatIdiotMonro
Thanks so much for the info. Something to keep an eye on, I guess.
@galand2dogs
I somehow managed to be ignorant of those; thanks for enlightening me! You know, I WAS wondering why there didn't seem to be any competitive products in that space. There was, I just didn't know about it. They look very nice indeed.
@harphat @donmelton
What? I thought you were in France. Gonna have to pay closer attention!
@ThatIdiotMonro
Uh-oh, what did I miss? I've been enjoying some of the Bylines stuff.
Retired SysAdmin living in the high country of Arizona, USA. I enjoy learning about physics, cosmology, genetics, neurology, and suchlike. Deeply confused by worldwide trends towards authoritarianism. I thought we'd already learned about that stuff. But I guess not.
