If you haven't read Kurt Anderson's "Fantasyland," I'd recommend it--it's basically a history of how very unserious we have been since before we were even colonies.

I think you can throw a little Reagan into that seething cauldron. Wasn't he the one that wanted to drown the government in a bathtub?

I'm very sorry to say that at the time that happened, Gosar was my representative. Oh, that just made me SO proud, I can tell you. What a fine human being he is.
Thanks to a some changes in the districts here in AZ, he's somebody else's rep now. BUT HE'S STILL THERE.
@rbreich
Been a lot of that going around.
Bad tech joke

And it used to be the "floppy...."

In the first half of the 13th century, the Soto Zen master Dōgen wrote instructions on bathing and cleanliness for his monks. The text is in chapter 7 of his masterwork Shobogenzo. He's very specific about how many balls to prepare and use. A good free translation can be had here if you'd like to look at it:

That translation is broken into four volumes, and this first volume contains fascicle 7, which starts on page 47.

So sort of a dual-purpose ceramics function! Very efficient to think of that.
Are you aware of the medieval Japanese thing where they used balls of clay? I can provide info if needed.

Glad to see you finally made it here! 😉 Welcome to you. Now let's get down to having some fun. I'll tag along with you and see where this trail goes.

I've used a PiHole for years, both at home and at my office back when I used to work. Not only cleans up the ol' browser, saves some bandwidth too! Not to mention it gives me an excuse to play with Raspberry Pi's, since they're perfect for stuff like that. 😃
@democracydocket
This Arizonan is VERY grateful that she got the job. Still puzzled over the debate refusal, but all's well that ends well I suppose. Hey, I should write that down, it's kind of catchy.
@womump
Oh well, seemed like a good idea at the time. 😉
@clmorgan
That is the tidiest trench I've ever seen. It looks like it was cut with a laser. Didja find anything?

The first time I watched my TI-99/4A do exactly what I'd told it to do, it changed my life forever. It was electrifying. 😍
While we know that the degeneration of dopamine neurons causes Parkinson's disease, we still don't know why those neurons degenerate.
One intriguing idea is that these neurons are particularly sensitive because their dendritic arbors are absolutely HUGE. Each neuron has 1 million terminal release sites, and operates under an extremely tight energy budget.

Some have been, and have been convicted-- though not the members of Congress who engaged in the planning and such. That's what I would like to see, though I know I won't. All the fake elector people deserve some law enforcement attention too, but I guess they get a pass for trying to defraud a government proceeding.
