Media just will not stop using the term "culture wars." Culture wars may be disputes about spaghetti or burgers for dinner. What the media misnames and often conscously trivializes as supposed "culture wars" are, in fact, the attack on human rights, authoritarianism, and the renewed enforcement of outright discrimination. There is nothing "both sides" about this, and it is not a question of cultural heritage or personal taste.

Guv. Sarah Hucksterbee Sanders signed a law in Arkansas that makes child labor easier for employers to get away with. And now we have the following, from the WaPo:
"A bill advancing in Iowa would allow 14- and 15-year-olds to work certain jobs in meatpacking plants and would shield businesses from civil liability if a youth worker is sickened, injured or killed on the job."
Look at that last sentence again.
@rkfmiller Hopefully good filters. But, that air has been previously breathed by many.
@StevenBeschloss Same with the guy bought Twitter.

Shun. Confrontation is not the right approach.
Lawsuits over the decades stipulate that Fox News is entertainment, fiction, distorted reality, not news. The recent revelations merely tell us who is to blame.
Rather than treating them as "corporate media equals," the reality based world needs to ignore them, treat them like Weekly World News/National Enquirer.
The game corporate media plays now is cross promotion with Fox News.
Don't promote. Don't confront. Shun.

Women have changed the (punk rock) world to this day, no World Women's Day needs to remind us of that.

Saw all Best Pic nominees. A good year; I didn’t truly hate a single one (even Maverick!). Faves: Banshees (great death meditation) & Everything (brilliantly centers women in a way Tar - this year’s Million Dollar Baby - only dreams of). The “popcorn” nominees - Avatar, Elvis, Maverick - all well-constructed. Avatar better than expected; mid storyline but truly amazing sea stuff. Elvis otoh torpedoed by a lame script but Luhrmann makes a movie pop. Maverick: wan romance but ripping chase. 1/X

TIP: Remember to remove people from your circle who bring lies, falsehoods, a pattern of dishonesty or who try to stagnate your growth.
Move on and keep flying without them!
@Lorrrraaaaine Doesn't worry me too much that remote work ages you by ten years, as stepping into an office ages you by 30. 🤷♀️
