If you're here a mini rant, keep reading.

I could not believe what I saw when I came across this article from the . Yet this is a real statement made by a real police chief. I can't begin to articulate how much this upsets me.

We should never allow our society to accept people as being of lesser value than others, because that's how we justify slavery, racism, sexism, and especially classism in this country.

Every young person alive today is the most valuable resource we have as a society. I don't care how much the older generations with their wealth and power try to reduce us or write us off for the crime of being young. It's not a joke when you make a statement like this, even if you walk it back with that excuse later on. A young woman has been killed by by the very person sworn to protect and serve. That crime should not be made okay by diminshing the value of her life or anyones.
