When I first signed up at mastodon I had no idea what the different instances were, how I would choose one over another or what difference any of it made. When you signed up, which is closest to your experience of choosing a server/instance to use?
@joshtpm I had a vague idea about instances because it was the reason why I didn't make an account sooner. I didn't quite understand that we would all still be connected. I'm happy I landed on qoto. I wanted one that was science-focused yet chill. I already question literally everything about everything so the acronym resonated a lot. (Question Others to Teach Ourselves) Though I do a fair bit of questioning myself and teaching others, too.
