There's a really good community feature on here called groups. It works like this:

1. Follow a group's account
2. You will start seeing posts on that topic
3. You can post to the group by @-ing it

For example, follow @tea to see posts about tea.

It's more powerful than following hashtags, as all group posts are actively pushed to all of the group's members. No one misses anything.

Find out more at fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on, and I've curated some nice active groups at fedi.directory/tag/fediverse-g

just like the bredenoord generators kept the hackers warm at camp, the cooling units at #gpn21 provided us with a sick beat to wait in line for some delicious gulasch.

sampled for your entertainment, enjoy :D

Every base counting system is base 10 if named by its own convention.

Spent a full day trying to troubleshoot a hot ground in my shed power. After hours of tearing apart the ceiling I finally saw the shitshow that had been wired in.

Tore it all out and started fresh.

So much better, no more 240v zaps

@ciaranmak Snap. I managed to extend the threshold with a butter - maple syrup combo lubricant..

@Paulos_the_fog I have worked in a multi language call centre. I have basic french but not enough to handle the content of the calls. On rare occasions I was put on the french lines if call volume was unexpectedly high. Instead of a customer not getting through at all I could offer a best effort with supporting english if a customer was ok with that. If not I passed the call back to the french team. This helped filter those edge cases out of the french teams que allowing customers who could only speak french a higher chance of getting support.
There was likely a decent reason (could have also been someone assigned to the wrong incoming que) it should not be a regular occurrence but could be a "best effort" measure.

My server is shouting at me but Im too sick to fix it.. bleargh

Why cant I ever find a damn SD card that works when I need one.

Also why do I keep all of these broken SD cards..

Does a Linux-powered supercomputer in a church still have daemons?

The bobbin winder on my 100+ yr old sewing machine wont spin bobbins anymore. I managed to hand wind one in time to respond to an emergency the kiddo had but big sad on this one.

Morning brain says drunk benchpress was a bad move. Ouchies..

Reorganizing my office is slow, because I keep encountering old projects that I want to fix up. These fiber optic hyperbolic paraboloids from two years ago had LED strips secured with duct tape that was starting to peel off, so I printed new covers to replace the tape, and clips to secure them to the frame mechanically. I added the STL files to the project write up which is on my blog: geekmomprojects.com/fiber-opti

Stop hating on lazy people. We didn't even do anything.

@ciaranmak sound lad, think I have it figured out. Need to change out some pipes so its a job for tomorrow..

Pipes burst and now my kitchen is flooding through the ceiling. Send patience and waterproof clothing..
