This source is better. But then again, any source is better than Mediaite.

Sorry about that last boost. Mediaite is pure rubbish.

Y’all, I saw the funniest thing on the Reddit today.
A young man claimed he couldn’t wait on hold for his food stamp redetermination so he got “AI” to hold for him, except it did his redetermination interview for him and made up all kinds of income and assets so he lost his benefits. 😂😂😂

He claimed he used this site. Hahahhhaa

@GottaLaff Thanks “a Bunch” for all the excerpts: convenient because my free views access dried up with them. Tried to subscribe weeks ago but the Philly Observer’s circulation department seemed unable to process Canadian postal codes. As noted yesterday, I found cancelling NYT and WaPo worked out as they counter with a cut-rate 1-year offer at something like $2 a month. Similar with the Economist: their cheapie Espresso version is a third of the price of the full Economochilada .

@GottaLaff The numbers don't lie. The number of people watching on MSM and the number watching on streaming were about the same. This is the crossover election.
Cord cutting was barely starting in 2016. In 2024, 20 million (the number of streaming views) have cut the cord. It is expected by 2026, 80 million will have cut the cord.
Cable news, OTA news, newspapers, etc will all be dead unless they figure out how to joint the exodus

@GottaLaff It’s genius and completely unexpected how the Harris campaign has refused to feed the media click bait rage machine.

It’s a shame that we can’t have an election about detailed policy ideas and plans, but that’s not where the media or nation is.

@GottaLaff

It occurs to me that MSM general failure is probably also linked to why the campaign barely touched the Gaza topic--it's such a hot-button issue, and media as they are now could make things so much worse. 🤔

10/ "Journalists can whine abt this.. but when less than 1/3 of Amer's trust mass media, few folks are listening to them...While traditionally deep distrust of mainstrm press long been province of rt-wing GOP, now it’s liberals who once cheered for media to do better who seem to be giving up on them.

This is not great...plunge in faith leads to cancelled subscriptions that leads to laid-off reporters or shuttered printing plants—not the vision of founders who believed a free press is essential"

9/ "But more broadly, Harris and her campaign is 100% focused on message discipline to build her brand and sell it to the American people in a few short weeks. The surest way to get thrown off that message discipline would be a stray answer at an open news conference or in an interview with the likes of NBC’s Lester Holt — so for now, Harris is simply not doing that.

And she’s getting away with it."

8/ "You know who gets the new landscape better than anyone else? Kamala Harris.

The vice president and Democratic nominee is running to be America’s first post-media president. In Chicago, much was made of the fact that Team Harris and the Democrats invited 200 sometimes fawning internet “content creators” who got VIP treatment while mainstream journalists fought over nosebleed-level seats and refrained from eating or going to the bathroom for fear of losing them."

5/ "While no one would argue with their stated approach of tough, unbiased scrutiny of all sides, the fact-checking industrial complex can’t handle the truth when one party’s platform is based on a firehouse of lies and the other party is trying to be serious, if not always literal, about reality"

3/ "The nattering nabobs of negativism had accomplished their mission in a year when the elite mainstream media has lost its doggone mind —going after small daily clickbait like a puppy chasing its tail, demanding news conferences only to ask trivial q's, issuing ludicrous “fact checks,” and desperately seeking gravitas in the candidate just found guilty on 34 felony counts and liable for rape and financial fraud, who was dinged by NPR for 162 lies or distortions in just one news conference"

An idea that animated the right: fantasy that Walz is a phony..2006 episode when his then-congressional campaign claimed he’d won a youth award from the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce when really it was — get this! — the Nebraska Jr Chamber of Commerce!"

"The #media completely blowing the election coverage is allowing Harris to run as the 1st post-media president

Instead of meeting a threat to democracy, careerist clickbaiters have both-sidesed, fact-checked trivia, and asked pointless questions
