Food Recalls are a good thing. It means the system is working. There have always been, and will always be food safety issues for a bounty of reasons. Having a system that finds and addresses them is amazing. You are not going to like what it looks like when they are deregulated.

The body of an #Ukraine journalist Victoria Roschina who recently died in #Russia custody has not been returned to family since 10 October when Russian side officially notified of her death. Family is concerned that Russians will hold the body for such a long time to make it impossible to establish the cause of death. The journalist had been listed for exchange in September and her transfer to Moscow from prison in Taganrog was most likely related to the planned exchange. Her death on the way is therefore highly suspicious, especially as Taganrog prison is notoriously known for violence and torture of prisoners.

This year marks the 400th anniversary of the first Thanksgiving in New England and that story has become an important part of how Americans view the founding of their country - but what happened four months later could be far more reflective of the country’s origins.

Rivian Automotive Inc. won preliminary approval for a $6.6 billion federal loan that would support the construction of an electric-vehicle factory the company put off building earlier this year to save money.

The loan, which includes $6 billion of principal and around $600 million of capitalized interest, would come from the US Energy Department’s "Advanced Technology Vehicle Manufacturing" program.

Rivian Chief Executive Officer RJ Scaringe said the funds would enable the company to “more aggressively scale” production of cheaper electric sport utility vehicles.

404 Media dropped a report earlier today revealing that people use Bluesky posts to train AI.

Bluesky published a thread that didn’t directly address the report but discussed its own policy and possible future features, such as appending robots.txt to posts.

Based on the comments of this thread, it’s clear that most BS members don’t realize their posts go to an open index that anyone can access.

Televangelists ask for your money 'in My name,' but trust me, I haven’t seen a dime of it—those jets don’t pay for themselves, apparently.

Just finished watching Generation Z on channel 4 (UK).

I love Ben Wheatley's work but, for me, this was sub par at best. On paper, and on screen at times, an interesting, if heavy handed, zombie based take on Brexit/Trump boomer selfishness. The reality is it was 2 episodes too long, very repetitive and ultimately unresolved/unexplained, despite the run time.

I don't generally come on social media and slate things but this is, in my opinion, a hot mess and a waste of time. Just warning folks who might get pulled in by the name and premise.

3 episodes in, you think, this is ok, by the end of the 4th you're checking your watch and hoping it ends soon.
