Oh look, it's me, @geekmomprojects, @wizard, #PixelBlaze & Lux Lavalier in Make Magazine! 🤩
Amazing work by @ishotjr, somehow managing to wrangle a chaotic conversation with the three of us in to a coherent article! 😆
The article title is *chef's kiss*.
@foosel I may have to try out CadQuery while on vacation this week. Thanks for the tip!
@peterdrake @DaveOfThings@mastodon.technology @thomas_oe That's my understanding, too. And the problem in this situation is that folks outside qoto.org can't see my posts or follow me as a result of their instance policies. Being new to all this, it wasn't hard to start again on another instance.
Hey everyone. I've created another Mastodon account over at @DaveOfThings@mastodon.technology.
It seems qoto.org, my first home on Mastodon, is cut off from much of the Fediverse, so I had to find an alternative.
I've tried to re-follow everyone from the new account. Unfortunately, I can't see some of my new qoto.org friends from there. Anyway, give the new account a follow if you'd like to stay in touch.
@geekmomprojects Is that LED filament available somewhere?
@cassolotl @Cleoqc I'd like to see a third option between "I'm repeating this" and "I like this" that means "My friends would like this, too." A boosted like, if you will.
@cassolotl A lot of what I saw on Twitter was tweets liked by people I follow. It looks like that's not the case on Mastodon. I only see what they boost.
A few years ago I made this flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!
So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.
This is why it's important to boost good posts and use hashtags - the fediverse is fragmented and harder to search by nature.
@scottsrobots Yay for robots.
@geekmomprojects I'd like to know, too.
@geekmomprojects The feeling's mutual. You were one of my first follows on Twitter and the actual first here! Seems like a good start.
I'm here! @DaveOfThings from Twitter, 'Flickr Dave' from Flickr. I'm a Dad, a Husband, an FRC Mentor, an embedded software engineer, wannabe hardware engineer. Hobbies are mostly maker stuff: 3D printing, CNC routing, electronics, machine learning, robotics.
Pronouns are he/him. Straight, Cis guy. I try to respect everyone.
Give me a follow, I'm looking to meet some intelligent people here on Mastodon.
