Let us speak in parables.

There was once a beautiful realm ruled by a wise king. Nearby, but outside the realm, there was a corrupt trader who had been exiled for his fraudulent practices. The trader was very rich and he seethed with anger towards the king, so he vowed revenge. But he did not hire mercenaries to overthrow the king, instead he hired bards and had them mock the king in every public square.

The king learned of this and dispatched his bravest knight to the nearby realm.

The knight returned with the trader's head and there was no further trouble.

I'm glad were not living in the times of kingdoms anymore, otherwise a tyrannical king could make the country a living hell.

@Demosthenes I await the coming of the God Emperor who will smite the Marxist filth and cleanse the realm of abominations.

@judgedread
Lol I have no idea what that has to do with your parable but ok

@Demosthenes Evil men must be punished no matter how cleverly their evasions of the law.

The rule of just men is what the nation wreckers fear above all else.

Enemies have no rights.

@judgedread
The constitution of the united states disagrees with you lol

@Demosthenes A glance at the headlines. Democracy and human rights are leading to anarchy everywhere.

What every decent citizen craves is the brutal iron boot of the Emperor and his legions to smash Marxists to shreiking maimed jelly.

Glorious! GLORIOUS!
@judgedread @Demosthenes

Kinda telling about human nature that one of the first tropes we go to in our stories is we are led by gods or kings. Even in future sci-fi stories, because whats cooler than a psychic god-king with a flaming sword in space?
