So, I'm finally on Linux! I'm not quite ready to install Arch, so I went with Slint, a Slackware (Salux) based distro, but things are working... okay except Emacspeak with Voxin is kinda messy on this distro, and weird stuff is going on because the distro maker tried to fix Alsa and Pulseaudio's bull crap. But all in all, it works okay, thanks to the Mate desktop mainly. <sarcasm>Oh and Pluma is broken, so that's nice.</sarcasm> but the installation was accessible, it came up talking, unlike the current Debian image because stability lol, and does what it says it does. Sometimes great, sometimes broken... Ugh I need to get good at installing Arch.
@devinprater what made you go with Slint instead of Ubuntu? Ubuntu is a lot more common of a "first linux" OS.
@Demosthenes I could have done ubuntu, but I wanted something closer to Arch, and I hate out-of-date packages, I really do. Especially for accessibility reasons.
@devinprater have you considered manjaro? It's arch but with an easier UI for keeping things up-to-date
@Demosthenes Hmm, I might try that.
