@rigatonimonster@octodon.social racism is inseparably ingrained in the structural issues I am talking about, there is no doubt about that. I was responding to someone who said "A legitimate coup attempt came out of a black man becoming president and embarrassing a rich white man." As if it's all about race.

I can see why he would think that way. I'm sure his experience as a black man is very different from my own. But as I said before, blaming major structural issues on single causes is part of why things are so extreme right now.

Racism needs to be addressed, it is serious. But so are those other issues I mentioned, and they (arguably) drive our problems just as much as it.
