For #MineralMonday a selection of pretty minerals on display at the #NottNatHist #museum #WollatonHall

My favourite is the blue chalcanthite.

@kaitclark - Yep… that would totally be worth a flight over the Atlantic! 🤣

@kaitclark - No, sadly. I’m in the area in the US. I can’t get that pizza here. 😞 I might have to relocate, though. 😂 That pizza looks totally worth the effort! 😃

The view out my window this morning! Snow has arrived in the and area! I believe this is the first Winter Weather Advisory of the season! And… I’m curiously eager to in it this evening!

I found this inside a rock today and was ❤️ 😍 just look at this critter (or maybe its discarded shell?) from the Devonian 400 million years ago! Besides some little shark teeth this is the coolest fossil I have ever found.

@kaitclark - So, I have yet to eat today. After seeing this, I’m very hungry. That looks so good, and I LOVE mango chutney!

Something simple I threw together for ... an animated GIF of three time-dependent functions plotted in RGB space.

It looks much better in 1920x1080 resolution, but server storage and download times must be respected!

(sort of)

Done (mostly) with #beHive central and training boards for a workshop on #electronics and #programming at the university of Sussex #brighton #uk.

All based on #OpenSource tools:
#thonny as an IDE, #microPython as a programming language, and all #openHardware docs here: github.com/beehive-org/beehive
Central board runs #ESP32 and is compatible with #SeeedStudio #grove system

Morning everyone! Here’s another #space #picture for you all! This one is the Cygnus wall, it’s a part of the recognisable North America Nebula . It is an area of star formation which is about 20 light years long! I used a Dual band narrowband filter to cut through the Birmingham light pollution and moonlight to capture this shot
Scope was my 200mm f/5 Altair newt aka big bucket! Camera was the awesome Altair hypercam 26C

#introduction: I am a cognitive neuroscientist at the Ernst Strüngmann Institute in Frankfurt, Germany. I like structure and beauty and somehow that draws me to #oscillations in the brain, mainly recorded with #electrophysiology.

when I have time, I like to make animations of concepts related to that: mnemai.org/demos

maybe starting on a new platform will allow for more playfulness again, which I enjoyed at lot in the beginning on twitter. 🙂

#CognitiveNeuroscience

Hi everyone, I'm new here! What's up? Any epidemiologists around these parts yet?

Finally doing an #Introduction here. I'm Eric, and I'm a #data scientist working on #marketing and content analytics for a media company. Previously, I was doing #ComputationalBiology of the human #Microbiome using network-based methods. I have soft spots for #OpenSource software tools and data, #Education, #InformalEducation, #Healthcare, #Libraries, #Math, and #Museum. And lately, topics of #AffordableHousing, #Economics, and #Misinformation have caught my eye. Nice to meet everyone!

#silentsunday

(for new folks, this hashtag is a way to share a quiet, silent image on Sundays -- normally with no text - other than image alt-text, of course - but I wanted to make an exception today to explain the tag)

Since I joined here I notice I’m becoming more sensitive again to the snarkiness and aggressiveness that are characteristic of the Bird site after getting used to it. I think it changes you. Do I want to change back? #SundayThoughts
