I was today's years old when I discovered climatetrace.org/ maps on #CO2 #emissions of all sources
(#oil, #gas, #agriculture, #manufacturing #mineral #extraction #transport)

Includes great feature to rank to most polluting company.

This article lists some #studies on leaf blower #emissions. A #leafblower emits 300 x the emissions of a pickup truck; using a leaf blower for 1 hour = driving the average car for 100 miles. This is low-hanging fruit if you want to reduce your #carbonfootprint. Plus, leaves are good for the ecosystem.

Getting closer to (finally!) pricing #CO2 #emissions from #shipping 🚢! A sector neglected for too long, responsible for 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

Have been looking into from server uses, streaming, social media etc. Seems that we are better off with local storage options instead of cloud, and CDs instead of .
Even if the server is running off pure renewables, the rest of the network isn't.
I'd be interested in any papers that look at this and the solutions such as coding, without being too heavy on the netspeak 😃

A system that doesn't address the needs for climate justice and securing human rights is a system that has failed everyone – we need to keep both in mind.
Human rights and climate movements are stronger when we stand in solidarity together. Then we can also successfully push those in power to live up to significantly increased adaptation finance and immediately, drastically reduced greenhouse gas emissions. There is no climate justice without social justice and human rights.

To supplement my last toot of 800,000 years of CO2 data, here's a graph of the past 2000 years for CO2, methane, and nitrous oxide (all greenhouse gases, measured in parts per million) again showing the effect of human activities driving up the concentrations. These are the gases driving #climate change.

Hello, New here.
I have a history in renewable energy, and am currently working through a bachelor of science in Sustainability.
I acknowledge the Noongar people of Wadjuk country on which I live and pay my respects to their elders past and present.
I've never made a tweet, but thought I would try a toot.
